The Heart of the Home: Custom Kitchen Remodels
Your kitchen is more than just a place to cook; it's where families gather, friends socialize, and memories are made. A well-designed kitchen should be beautiful, functional, and tailored to your specific culinary needs. Millwood Construction specializes in complete kitchen overhauls. We can help you redesign your layout to improve workflow, install custom cabinetry for optimal storage, and select the perfect countertops, backsplashes, and appliances to bring your vision to life. From modern, sleek designs to warm, traditional aesthetics, we do it all.
Maximizing Value and Return on Investment
Kitchen renovations consistently offer the highest return on investment of any home improvement project. By updating this critical area, you not only enhance your daily living experience but also significantly boost your property's market value. We use high-quality, durable materials that stand the test of time, ensuring that your investment pays off for years to come. Let us help you create spaces that you'll love showing off to guests.
Building in the Tri-Cities
The Tri-Cities region's mix of Craftsman bungalows, mid-century ranches, and newer traditional construction means every remodel has to work with what's already there — original trim profiles, older framing, and a house's existing character — rather than treating it like a blank slate. Our region's freeze-thaw winters and humid summers also shape material choices, particularly around moisture control.
Our Process
1. Consultation — we walk your existing kitchen, discuss how you actually use the space, and talk through priorities.
2. Design & material selection — layout drawings, cabinetry style and finish selection, countertop and backsplash material, and a detailed itemized proposal before any demo starts.
3. Permitting — electrical, plumbing, and (if a wall is moving) structural permits are pulled through your local building department; we handle this so you don't have to.
4. Demolition & rough-in — removal of existing cabinetry and finishes, then any electrical or plumbing relocation required by the new layout.
5. Installation & finish — cabinetry, countertops, backsplash, flooring, lighting, and fixtures, followed by punch-list detailing.
6. Final walkthrough — we walk the finished kitchen with you before calling the project complete.
Permits & Compliance
Most kitchen remodels that involve new electrical circuits, gas line work, or plumbing relocation require a permit through your city or county building department; purely cosmetic work (cabinet refacing, a countertop swap with no plumbing changes) often does not. We confirm what's required for your specific project and pull every permit needed.
